An exciting opportunity exists for a Laboratory Technician to join a leading energy industry laboratory team based at the Longford Gas Plant. This role offers hands-on laboratory experience, exposure to operational testing and analysis, and the opportunity to work alongside highly experienced scientific and technical professionals.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Laboratory Team Leader, you will provide analytical and scientific support to onsite operations, offshore assets, and broader business functions. You will play a critical role in ensuring laboratory testing, sampling, reporting, and quality processes are completed accurately and safely. This is an excellent opportunity for a science graduate or experienced laboratory professional seeking to build their career within a large-scale industrial and energy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect samples from onsite and offsite locations
- Conduct laboratory testing and sample analysis
- Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records and reports
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Perform routine laboratory housekeeping activities
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and integrity standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with onsite and offshore stakeholders
To be successful, you will have:
- Degree qualification in Science or a related discipline (highly regarded)
- Previous laboratory, testing, quality assurance, or analytical experience
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Current Driver's Licence (preferred)

Location
This role is based full time at the Longford Gas Plant, Gippsland VIC. Candidates should be comfortable working in a site-based environment, with occasional opportunities to support offshore activities as required.
