Job Title: TMI 2 Traffic Controller – Civil Roadworks

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable TMI 2 Traffic Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong experience in traffic management for roadworks and be confident in independently setting up traffic control sites in accordance with Victorian road authority requirements.

This role is suited to a confident and capable Traffic Controller who can work autonomously, interpret traffic management plans, and adapt generic traffic control plans to suit changing site conditions.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow around active construction sites while maintaining compliance with relevant traffic management standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out traffic management duties for civil construction and roadwork projects
- Set up and pack down traffic control sites independently
- Implement traffic guidance schemes in accordance with approved plans and requirements
- Confidently set up traffic control arrangements in line with VicRoads standards and specifications
- Interpret and adapt generic traffic management plans to suit site conditions
- Conduct site assessments and identify potential safety risks
- Maintain safe movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and workers around worksites
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, construction crews,



and other stakeholders
- Complete required documentation and maintain compliance with safety procedures
- Ensure all traffic control equipment is correctly positioned and maintained

Skills & Experience Required:

- Current and proven experience as a TMI 2 Traffic Controller
- Robust understanding of Victorian traffic management requirements
- Experience setting up traffic control sites independently
- Ability to interpret and adapt generic traffic management plans
- Confident working without constant supervision
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and qualified approach to work
- Ability to work effectively within a civil construction environment

Requirements:

- Current Traffic Control qualifications relevant to Victorian roadworks
- White Card
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
- Must live within approximately 30km of Melbourne CBD
- Ability to work across various civil construction sites as required
