Lawson Elliott Recruitment is partnering with a successful and growing business looking to welcome a confident Assistant Accountant into their Brisbane team. Reporting to the Finance and Corporate Services Manager, you will have broad range of responsibilities including:
- End-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable management
- Processing, coding and approving invoices
- Preparing and processing supplier payments
- Supplier statement reconciliations and maintaining vendor relationships
- Bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end financial reporting and closing processes
- Investigating and resolving account discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity
- Managing customer invoicing and collections
- Providing financial support and reporting to management
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Assisting with audit preparation and compliance requirements
- Ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required
Ideal candidate for this role:
- 4+ years' experience in a Bookkeeper or similar position
- Strong end-to-end bookkeeping experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and month-end processes
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- High level of accuracy with strong organisational and time management skills
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to take ownership of responsibilities
- Experience using accounting softwares
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (desirable)
