Role Description The Pipelayer role at CMTL Group is a contract, in office position based in Brisbane, QLD. In this role, the Pipelayer installs and aligns pipes for water, sewer, and drainage systems according to project specifications and safety requirements. Typical tasks include preparing trenches, assisting with excavation, handling and positioning pipes, and working with heavy equipment operators to ensure accurate placement. The Pipelayer inspects completed installations for proper grade and alignment, performs basic site clean-up,



and follows all site safety procedures and instructions. The role involves close coordination with supervisors and crew members to meet project timelines and quality standards.
Qualifications

- Ability to perform sustained manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and working in varied outdoor conditions.
- Experience with excavation and trench preparation, including understanding safe excavation practices.
- Knowledge of pipe installation, alignment, and basic understanding of water, sewer, or drainage systems.
- Familiarity with working around heavy equipment and coordinating with operators in a safe and efficient manner.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with supervisors, HSET personnel, and site crews.
- Relevant tickets or licenses (e.g., White Card/Construction Induction, mobile plant tickets) are highly regarded.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and following site procedures and instructions.
- Previous experience in civil construction, mining, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
