Vetlink Vet Nurse Jobs
Melbourne
A privately owned practice in Melbourne’s inner east has an opportunity for an experienced vet nurse to join their 25-person team.
The employers are seeking a nurse with solid GP veterinary nursing skills and outstanding customer service and communication skills.
In your new role, you will have the opportunity to practice the highest level of primary care veterinary nursing. If you are excited by the prospects of assisting with CT studies, complex anaesthetics and in-depth workups, this role is for you! This practice focuses on team development, wellbeing, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
The role is full time, working 4 to 5 days a week. The weekend roster would involve 1 in 4 Saturdays and Sundays.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Support clinicians during consultations and independently deliver nurse consultations, focusing on low-stress patient handling, client education, and accurate record-keeping.
- Provide high-quality nursing care for hospitalised patients, including the administration of medication (comprising CRIs and anaesthetics), accurate clinical charting (VetRadar), diagnostic and imaging support (cytology, IDEXX in-house pathology,
blood gas analysis, radiographs, ultrasound, CT).
- Confidently assist in dental and surgical cases from pre-operative preparation (IV catheter placement, intubation) to anaesthesia monitoring, intraoperative support, and post-operative care.
- Maintain high hospital standards through cleaning, sterilisation, and adherence to isolation protocols.
Applicants must hold a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent), along with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary nurse/technician. Prior experience using EzyVet is preferred, however it is not essential.
Employer sponsorship (work visa) may be considered for suitably qualified and experienced nurses who can do an initial trial while in Australia on a working holiday visa.
Tucked away in Melbourne’s inner east, the practice is located in a suburb with leafy, tree-lined streets. With easy access to trams and trains, the area offers a convenient commute to the city, while boutique cafes, lush parks, and quality schools contribute to its strong community appeal.
