Rotafab is a well-established fabrication and machining business servicing a diverse range of clients across the oil and gas, energy, and marine industries. We employ a skilled team of approximately 35-40 full-time and casual employees across three core departments: welding fabrication and pipe spooling; machine shop and mechanical equipment repair; and industrial coating and abrasive blasting services.
Each department is supported by experienced supervision and shop‑floor leadership, ensuring efficient workflow and high‑quality production, alongside dedicated quality control, human resources, administration, and senior management teams. We are seeking a new hard working & enthusiastic team member for the position of Painter Blaster to join our Coatings teamat our Wurruk facility. This position is full-time with a fortnightly RDO.
Role
As a Painter Blaster, you will carry out surface preparation and apply protective coatings to structural steel, pipe spools, and mechanical components in line with client requirements and relevant industry standards.
This is a hands‑on position ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and understands the critical importance of quality, safety, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Surface preparation of components for blasting and coating
- Abrasive blasting using garnet, steel shot, and glass beads
- Spray and brush application of industrial coating systems
- Ensuring all work meets client specifications and quality standards
- Completing traceability and QA documentation
- Maintaining equipment and a clean, safe workspace
- Adhering to Rotafab’s health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Experience in industrial painting and abrasive blasting
- Forklift Licence (essential)
- Strong attention to detail
- Good time management and problem‑solving skills
- A team‑focused, reliable attitude
