We have an immediate availability for an Accounts Officer to work 4 days a week in our Bowral based team. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, this role provides accounting and financial support including processing of receivables and payables, reconciliations, standard book-keeping processes and financial reporting.
In this role you'll be support the BDCU Group by providing:
- All functions associated with Accounts Receivable including raising and inputting invoices, reconciling payments and managing card payment systems.
- All functions associated with Accounts Payable including entering invoices and paying suppliers.
- Reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
- Preparation of month-end reconciliations, including accruals and provisions, and maintaining associated workpapers.
- Preparation and lodgement of the Instalment Activity Statement (IAS)
and Business Activity Statement (BAS).
- Preparation of the Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) return and the associated record-keeping throughout the year.
- Assisting with the timely and accurate preparation of month-end reports and the annual financial statements.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- Experience in book-keeping practices using Xero.
- Experience in accounts payable and receivable.
- Applied understanding of IAS, BAS and FBT.
- A high level of organisation with the ability to manage your daily tasks independently.
- Proven experience managing competing priorities and responding to unexpected situations.
This role will ideally work Monday – Thursday in our Bowral office, but there is flexibility to discuss the preferred days.
As part of a small and busy team, you'll have excellent attention to detail, thrive working independently, have solid commercial acumen and be comfortable working with senior managers in a small team environment.
