ABOUT THE ROLE

Little Projector Company (LPC) is looking for one skilled creative AV Technician who thinks like a craftsperson — someone who takes real pride in how a projection system looks and feels, not just whether it switches on. You'll scope sites before install day, get hands‑on with testing and troubleshooting,

and make sure every projector, cable and mount is ready to go — then be there on the night to make it happen.

This role also covers for Directors when they're on leave or unwell, so there's real trust (and real responsibility) built into it — plus a front‑row seat to LPC's growth as we take on bigger, more ambitious installations through 2026 and beyond.

There's a genuine path forward, too: LPC is looking to employ an ongoing Technical Accounts Manager from within our AV Tech team in the future — taking on client liaison, quoting, and permanent installation work at a higher rate plus commission on projects you close. If that's the kind of role you're working towards, this is where you start.

BENEFITS OF WORKING AT LPC

Access to cutting‑edge projection technology and equipment — kit‑hire profit gets reinvested straight back into new gear, so you're working with (and learning) the best tools in the field

A genuine network of like‑minded artists and technicians who want to do good — a small crew that cares as much about impact as output

Real room to develop your own ideas — LPC sets aside development time for staff to pitch and grow their own creative projects, with support to bring them to life

Early influence in a growing company — 2026 is a big growth year for LPC, and early crew get a genuine say in the culture, systems and projects that follow

Fair, transparent pay — every rate we offer is benchmarked against current industry standards, not just set at whatever we can get away with

Hands‑on mentorship from LPC's Co‑Creative Directors — direct, on‑the‑job learning, not lost in a big organisation

Meaningful, values‑led work — First Nations‑led storytelling and community‑focused public art, with a firm no to private advertising on any LPC installation

Versatile,

project‑based casual work that's easy to balance with your own creative practice or other work

Part of an inclusive, purpose‑driven organisation — genuine fair‑work and sustainability commitments, not just a policy on a page

ABOUT LPC

Little Projector Company (LPC) tells stories through light. We design and deliver large‑scale projection art — turning buildings, laneways and public spaces into canvases for community storytelling, First Nations‑led work, and after‑dark spectacle. We work with an eye on the future and the technology that gets us there, while always honouring the past — the histories, cultures and communities every place already holds.

We're a small, ambitious Naarm/Melbourne‑based crew scaling up fast, and this is a genuinely exciting time to jump in: more projects, more gear, more paid creative roles, and more say in what we make next. Profit from our kit hire gets reinvested straight back into the business — new equipment, better pay, and real growth for the people who make LPC's work happen.

We take fair pay and inclusive hiring seriously, we never let our installations carry private advertising, and we're working towards becoming a carbon‑conscious, community‑focused organisation for the long term. More than anything, we want to find out who's out there — the people who understand projection and storytelling, and want to grow with us to tell the stories that need to be told here in Australia.

WHERE WE'RE GOING

2026 is a big year for LPC, and there's rarely been a better time to get on board. We're growing our casual crew across creative producing, technical delivery and on‑site AV support so we can take on more large‑scale installations, festival commissions and immersive night‑time events — while Little Projector Company is building the systems (and the pay rates) to match. Expect variety: no two projects, sites or install nights look the same, and real room to help shape where we go next.
