Dancing Kangaroo Wine Tours is looking for a warm, reliable driver to join our team. Your job is to get our guests safely and comfortably through the day, following the itinerary our team has planned. No tour guiding experience is needed. If you are a safe, friendly driver who takes pride in looking after people, we would love to hear from you.

This is a seasonal role that grows with the warmer months. Right now our main need is Saturdays, with the occasional extra day here and there, and the work steadily builds heading into summer. It suits someone after a flexible role alongside other commitments, with more hours on offer as the season picks up.

About the role

You will drive guests on full day winery tours through the Yarra Valley and surrounding regions, in vehicles from 12 to 25 seats, following the day's itinerary set by our team. You will be a friendly, secure pair of hands: welcoming guests, keeping to schedule and making sure everyone has a comfortable, enjoyable day. If you would like to learn the guiding side and host our public tours down the track, we are more than happy to train you.

What we are looking for

A safe, confident driver who is reliable, punctual and easy to get along with. You will need a calm, friendly manner with guests and the organisation to keep the day running to plan.



Being comfortable driving larger passenger vehicles is important. An interest in wine, food or local history is a lovely bonus, especially if you would like to grow into guiding, but it is not essential to start.

Licences and accreditation

You will need a current Commercial Passenger Vehicle (CPV) Driver Accreditation. This can be obtained online and usually takes three to four weeks, so you are welcome to apply while it is in progress. A Heavy Vehicle Licence is preferred, with Light Rigid as a minimum. Please make sure your licence class covers the vehicle sizes above.

The details

This is a contractor role, so an ABN is required. We see it as a flexible way to earn that can grow with the season: strong drivers can look forward to more regular work through summer, and there may be a path to something more permanent over time.

Pay is $38 to $49 per hour. A typical tour day runs from an 8am start to a return at the depot by 6pm to 6:30pm, with some later starts available. Tours run seven days a week and we schedule around your availability. Vehicles are picked up from and returned to our depot near Laverton North, in Melbourne's west (VIC 3026).
