Acacia Environmental Management
Melbourne
Are you passionate about protecting Victoria's native grasslands and threatened ecosystems?
Acacia is seeking motivated Environmental Team Members to undertake ecological restoration and conservation work across Melbourne's western grasslands.
We welcome applications from experienced environmental field workers, ecology and conservation graduates, land management professionals, conservation volunteers, and people looking to begin a career in environmental management.
Melbourne's western grasslands are among Victoria's most ecologically significant and threatened ecosystems. They support a diverse range of native plants and wildlife and require careful, ongoing management. This position provides an opportunity to work directly within these important conservation areas and contribute to their long-term protection and restoration.
Acacia delivers environmental field works and consulting services across reserves, waterways, parks and open spaces throughout greater Melbourne.
Our teams undertake sensitive weed control, ecological restoration, revegetation and vegetation management to protect and enhance native vegetation and habitat.
As Acacia continues to grow, we are looking for people who respect the natural environment, enjoy practical outdoor work and want to contribute to meaningful conservation outcomes.

As an Environmental Team Member, you will work across Melbourne's western grasslands, undertaking activities such as:
- Ecological restoration and habitat improvement
- Weed identification and control
- Herbicide application
- Revegetation and plant establishment
- Native and introduced plant identification
- General environmental field work and site maintenance
While western grassland management will be a key focus, you may also contribute to projects across bushland reserves, waterways,

The following would be highly regarded:
- Experience in the management of native grasslands
- Experience in environmental field work, natural resource management, arboriculture, landscaping, horticulture or other outdoor labouring roles
- Experience with herbicide application and weed control
- Knowledge of native and introduced vegetation found across greater Melbourne
- A relevant TAFE or university qualification
- A Construction Induction Card or White Card
- A current first aid certificate
- An ACUP licence or relevant chemical-use training
Applicants do not need to meet every desirable criterion. Training and development opportunities may be available for the right candidates.
