The role

The Labourer Construction & Maintenance supports daily road maintenance and construction activities across the Shire. Duties include operating mobile plant, performing manual handling tasks,



and maintaining a safe work setting using correct manual handling techniques.

This role is physically demanding in hot and humid conditions. You must be physically fit and able to meet Safe Working Load (SWL) requirements for seats on machinery/equipment you operate.

What we are looking for

- Physical ability to perform manual labour for extended periods in hot/humid conditions
- Safe operation of Council plant, machinery and vehicles
- Ability to apply safe work practices (WHS) and manual handling techniques
- Sound written/verbal communication and ability to follow instructions
- Current QLD MR or HR driver’s licence, QLD Construction Industry White Card, and eligibility for QLD Traffic Control Accreditation

- Role is subject to a satisfactory pre-employment medical assessment
- You must have Australian/NZ citizenship, Australian permanent residency, or unrestricted Australian work rights (no visa sponsorship available)
