An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a well-established hospitality organisation on a 6-month maternity leave contract. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations.

Your recent role

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working across revenue reconciliation, accounts receivable, banking, and general ledger activities within a fast-paced environment. Hospitality experience will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

- Daily revenue reconciliations and income auditing
- Investigating and resolving revenue discrepancies
- Performing daily bank reconciliations
- Accounts receivable processing, allocations, and collections
- Credit card and account reconciliations
- Managing customer payment queries and debt collection follow-up
- Assisting with month-end reporting and journal preparation




- Supporting end-of-month and end-of-year processes
- General ledger reconciliations
- Providing support across the wider finance team as required

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer, or similar
- Strong reconciliation and accounts receivable experience
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
- Hospitality, accommodation, or hotel industry experience highly regarded

Relevant Accounting, Finance, or Commerce qualification preferred
