Queen Street Medical Centre is seeking a motivated, experienced GP Registered Nurse . We are a privately owned general practice and proud of our team of friendly GP's, Nurses and Reception Staff.

We're currently seeking a motivated and caring Practice Nurse to join us 3–5 days per week, with days and hours flexible for the right person. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of a busy, well-established practice that values teamwork, patient care, and professional growth. The role is negotiable to part or full-time.
Queen Street Medical Centre is an RACGP accredited medical centre, open Mon to Fri (no weekend shifts!) . The Queen Street team is a vibrant LGBTIQA+ friendly practice, specialising in sexual health, women's health, and all aspects of general practice medicine. Our specialised services include IUD insertions, iron infusions and skin cancer medicine - no two days are ever the same at Queen Street.
The role of Practice Nurse includes the following responsibilities:
- Childhood immunisations
- Immunisation training or certification is required at start,
or training will be provided on-site
- Perform ECGs, Holter Monitor, Spirometry and Audiometry
- Assisting with minor surgical procedures
- Wound management and dressings
- Co-ordination of busy, 3-bay treatment room
- Cold chain and stock management
- Infection Control
- Administrative duties including recalls and reminders
- Assisting with quality improvements and compliance at the Practice
- Preparing chronic disease management plans and reviews
- Residential Aged Care support (assisting visiting GPs)
- Employment Medicals
- Patient triage (phone and walk-ins)
The successful candidate will display:
- AHPRA registration (Registered Nurse, Div 1)
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with our long-term patients
- Ability to work autonomously and productively with our team
- Competency in computers and clinical software (Best Practice) is ideal
- Genuine interest in Primary Health Care / General Practice nursing
- Experience in General Practice, skin cancer procedures, Community Care or patient education roles would be preferred.
- Australian work rights are required for this position
The rate of pay will be dependent on experience.
