About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced Painting Trades Worker to become part of a growing business undertaking a variety of residential and commercial painting projects across Victoria.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching holes, removing old paint, filling cracks, and cleaning surfaces.
- Mix and match paints, stains, varnishes, primers, and other coatings to achieve the required colours and finishes.
- Apply paints, varnishes, lacquers, sealants, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray-painting equipment.
- Measure work areas and estimate the quantity of paint and materials required for each project.
- Apply decorative finishes, textures, wallpapers, and specialty coatings where required.
- Protect surrounding surfaces using masking materials, drop sheets, and protective coverings before commencing painting work.
- Erect and safely use ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms in accordance with workplace safety requirements.
- Inspect completed painting work to ensure it meets quality standards and rectify any defects or imperfections.
- Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials in a clean, protected, and serviceable condition.
- Comply with workplace health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Liaise professionally with supervisors, team members, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Skills and Requirements

- AQF Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent qualification, or at least three years of relevant industry experience .




- Demonstrated experience in residential and commercial painting projects.
- Sound knowledge of painting materials, surface preparation techniques, coatings, and finishing methods.
- Experience using brushes, rollers, spray-painting equipment, ladders, and scaffolding safely.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, and project requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- A current Australian driver's licence will be highly regarded.
