Acu-Tech Pty Ltd The primary purpose of this position is to support the operation, maintenance, installation, and continuous improvement of extrusion equipment and associated processes, ensuring product quality, equipment reliability, efficiency, and compliance with Acu-Tech and relevant standards.

Task & responsibilities

Operate, monitor, test, and optimise extrusion production equipment and associated mechanical systems, conducting operational assessments to support effective manufacturing processes and equipment performance.

Assemble, install, and modify mechanical components, equipment, and production systems to meet operational and engineering requirements.

Set, calibrate and adjust machine settings, tooling and production parameters in accordance with engineering specifications and quality requirements.

Conduct inspections, operational testing, and performance assessments of extrusion machinery and associated plant equipment.

Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum-loading system faults, implementing corrective actions where appropriate or escalating issues to relevant personnel.

Monitor equipment performance and analyse operational data to identify process improvements, enhance equipment reliability, support engineering recommendations, and minimise production downtime.

Assist with engineering and continuous improvement initiatives relating to equipment reliability, production efficiency, mechanical performance, and process optimisation.

Read and interpret production schedules, work orders, technical instructions, and engineering specifications to determine production requirements.

Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, production outcomes, and identified faults.

Report equipment issues, process deviations,



and maintenance requirements to supervisors, engineers, or maintenance personnel as required.

Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies, engineering procedures, environmental standards, and quality management systems.

Participate in hazard identification, risk reduction, and safe work practices associated with manufacturing and mechanical operations.

Safely operate forklifts, including side loaders, for the movement of raw materials, finished products, tooling, and production equipment.

Qualification & experience

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems and production equipment. Proven problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose equipment issues. Experience testing, calibrating, maintaining, and optimising mechanical equipment and machinery.

Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret technical and operational data. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance documentation. Relevant Diploma or higher qualification in a related field or minimum of 3 years’ experience

Can do attitude and ability to be a team player working with cross discipline engineers as well as non-technical stakeholders.
