We're looking for an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our client's Manufacturing team, producing sophisticated medical devices designed to improve patient outcomes. Every instrument you build represents countless hours of engineering, innovation, and quality, ultimately helping healthcare professionals deliver better care.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are exactly the same. You'll work across mechanical assembly, electronics, embedded software, calibration, and testing, becoming a key part of bringing advanced technology to life.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside experienced and exceptional engineers and technicians, you'll be involved in the complete build process, including:

- Building precision electro-mechanical, electronic, and optical assemblies

- Assembling floor-standing medical instruments from mechanical and electrical components

- Loading embedded software onto PCBs and electronic modules

- Performing PCB functional testing using dedicated jigs and test procedures

- Carrying out SMD soldering, rework, and component-level repairs under engineering guidance

- Building cable and harness assemblies

- Calibrating modules and finished instruments

- Reading and interpreting assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions

- Inspecting components and assemblies to ensure they meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards

- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe production setting

About you

You're someone who enjoys working with your hands while appreciating the technical detail, finesse, and rigour behind what you're building.





You’ll likely bring:

- A Certificate, Diploma, or completed apprenticeship in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline

- Previous experience working within a medical device or similar highly regulated environment (highly regarded)

- Experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly

- Strong SMD soldering and PCB rework skills, including microscope inspection and hot-air rework

- Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque-controlled assembly methods, and fasteners

- Familiarity with firmware flashing tools such as JTAG, SWD, or similar programming utilities

- Confidence reading technical documentation, including schematics, drawings, and work instructions

- A methodical approach to testing, recording results, and following documented procedures

- Excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to producing high-quality work

- Patience, perseverance, consistency, and pride in your workmanship

- An understanding of working within cleanroom environments, including hygiene requirements and PPE protocols

- Previous experience working in environments that adhere to TGA, FDA, GMP, ISO 13485, or other strict regulatory standards (highly regarded)
