About the Role
As a Utility Locator, you will be responsible for accurately locating and marking underground services before excavation works take place. You'll work across a variety of projects, ensuring secure excavation practices while delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Locate and mark underground utilities, including power, gas, water, communications and sewer.
- Interpret DBYD plans and utility service plans.
- Use electromagnetic locating equipment and GPR where required.
- Complete accurate field reports and documentation.
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors and asset owners.
- Follow Australian Standards and company procedures.
- Maintain company vehicles and equipment.
- Work safely while upholding ECLS's commitment to quality and customer service.
About You
- Reliable, honest and self-motivated.

- Safety-focused with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Professional with strong communication skills.
- Willing to learn and develop within the industry.
Essential Requirements
- Current Australian Driver Licence (HR Licence highly regarded).
- White Card.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Desirable
- Previous experience as a Utility Locator.
- Experience with electromagnetic locating equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
