What you'll do

- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights that will inform communication materials and event planning.

- Develop promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and digital content, to support event marketing efforts.
- Maintain and update the department's website and social media channels to reflect current events and initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and assess the impact of events and communications, using this data to improve future initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations that summarize event outcomes and communication effectiveness for senior management.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in event management and communications to keep the department's strategies current and effective.
- Provide support in crisis communication situations, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.




- Foster relationships with external vendors and partners to enhance event offerings and communication reach.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving departmental processes and outreach efforts.

Requirements

- A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related discipline is essential.
- At least three years of professional experience in event management and communications is required.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are crucial for success in this role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively convey messages and engage with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms is a must, including social media and email marketing software.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment is significant.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.

Nice to have

- Previous experience working in a government or public sector setting would be advantageous.
