About the Opportunity

Hall Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join their Cairns team. This is a great opportunity to secure permanent, local work with a highly regarded contractor. Working on a range of marine and civil infrastructure projects, the successful candidate will be part of a supportive, high-performing team that takes pride in doing things right the first time.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Performing mechanical repairs and equipment overhauls
- Responding to equipment breakdowns and troubleshooting issues
- Using a digital maintenance system to log accurate service records




- Ensuring compliance with OHS policies and contributing to a strong safety culture
- Collaborating with site teams to ensure productive, high-quality project delivery

What We’re Looking For

- Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic (essential)
- Based in the Cairns region (essential)
- Current C Class driver’s licence (MR highly regarded)
- Proven ability to work independently with strong time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Experience in marine, civil or mining industries (advantageous)
- First Aid, Shipboard Safety, or Recreational Boat Licence (a bonus)
