About the role:
Secondary School Counsellor
Ongoing – 37.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (school term weeks only)
Commencing as soon as possible
Concordia College, Highgate, SA is seeking to appoint a Secondary School Counsellor to support students in developing strategies to manage individual, peer, social and emotional concerns.
Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in counselling, psychology, or social work, with current registration (e.g. AHPRA or AASW)
- Demonstrated experience supporting adolescents with social-emotional wellbeing, mental health concerns, and academic or personal challenges in a school or youth services setting
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based counselling frameworks and crisis intervention protocols, with the ability to develop and implement individual student support plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , with the ability to build trusted relationships with students, families, teachers, and external health professionals
- Collaborative team player who can work effectively within a team and contribute to whole-school wellbeing programs and initiatives.
