Edward Mann is looking for a Financial Data & Reporting Analyst on behalf of a well-respected, top-tier Australian University. This role is a 3-month contract with a high likelihood of moving into a permanent position. The role will pay up to 115k + super (based on experience).

Position Purpose

Reporting to the Manager of Business Partnering, this role is designed for a data-driven professional who can bridge the gap between complex financial reporting and advanced analytics. You will be a tech-savvy specialist responsible for leveraging SQL, Excel, and modern data visualization tools to transform raw financial datasets into actionable business insights. While your primary focus will be on driving automation and analytical excellence across the Business Partnering, FP&A;, and Commercial Finance teams, you will also play a key role in supporting the efficiency and accuracy of month‑end reporting cycles.

Key Accountabilities

- Data Analysis & Insights: Deliver in-depth analysis of financial data, utilizing data mining and visualization tools like Power BI to present critical insights for stakeholders.
- Reporting Automation: Provide expert assistance in automating monthly management accounts and reporting packs, including financial analysis of monthly results and business performance.
- System Maintenance:



Support the PeopleSoft Financial System, including maintenance of the chart of accounts and implementation of new functionalities or report developments.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with internal departments to develop individual budgets and forecasts as part of the broader University financial cycle.
- Dashboard Management: Maintain financial reports and Power BI dashboards across the Finance portfolio.
- Financial Modelling: Provide technical financial modelling and analytical support as required by the Deputy CFO.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure all work and conduct comply with organizational policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

- Relevant tertiary qualification with a CA/CPA level qualification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a complex organization providing financial reporting, budgeting, and modelling.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert analytical skills including data mining, database querying, and building dashboards in Power BI.
- Software Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Excel, SQL, and various data models.
- Financial Accuracy: High-level accountancy and reconciliation skills with rigorous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem Solving: Ability to find innovative solutions to enhance systems and improve overall financial performance.
- Organization: Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fluid environment.
