At the Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we're looking for an experienced People & Culture leader to lead our Business Partnering function and help shape the future of our people services.

Location: Fitzroy, VIC
Employment Type: Permanent Full-time
Base Salary: $140,000 per annum plus $13,000 vehicle allowance, 12% superannuation and generous salary packaging benefits

About the role

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity within our People, Culture and Engagement team.

Reporting to the Head of People Care & Operations, you will lead a team of HR Business Partners, Advisors and Coordinators, delivering exceptional people services and driving operational and strategic workforce outcomes across the organisation.

As a trusted partner to senior leaders, you will play a key role in building leadership capability, enhancing the employee experience, strengthening governance and compliance, and delivering people strategies that enable organisational performance and impact.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing HR Business Partnering team.
- Partner with leaders to drive strategic workforce planning and people initiatives.
- Provide expert coaching and guidance on people leadership, performance and organisational effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement across people services, systems and processes.




- Leverage workforce data and insights to inform decision making and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Enhance the employee experience through contemporary, efficient and people centred practices.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.

About you

You are an experienced and trusted People & Culture leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational delivery. You thrive in creating people solutions that drive organisational success.

You'll bring:

- Significant experience in senior Human Resources or People & Culture Business Partnering roles.
- A proven track record of leading, coaching and developing high performing HR teams.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations and contemporary HR practices.
- A passion for continuous improvement, service excellence and fostering a positive employee experience.
- The ability to balance strategic priorities with hands on leadership in a dynamic environment.

A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Law or a related discipline is essential.
