The Strategic Property & Commercial Activities Service manages one of local government's most diverse property portfolios, including community facilities, commercial properties, visitor destinations, operational assets and strategic land holdings. Our team is focused on delivering commercially sustainable, community-focused and compliant property outcomes that support the long-term objectives of Blue Mountains City Council.

Blue Mountains City Council is seeking an experienced leader to drive the commercial activation and strategic promotion of one of local government's most diverse property portfolios.

As the Program Leader – Property Commercial Activation & Strategy, you will lead Council's commercial activation, destination marketing, events, partnerships and visitor economy initiatives, developing innovative strategies that maximise the utilisation of Council assets while enhancing community outcomes and long-term financial sustainability.

This is an exciting opportunity to establish a newly created leadership role and influence how Council activates its commercial and community assets through strategic partnerships, events, marketing campaigns and place-based initiatives that strengthen the Blue Mountains as a destination.

Reporting to the Manager Strategic Property & Commercial Activities, you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for:

- Leading Council's commercial activation.
- Lead destination marketing, visitor experience and precinct programming initiatives that strengthen commercial performance and support the Blue Mountains visitor economy.
- Developing and implementing events, activations and visitor economy initiatives.
- Drive opportunities to increase utilisation and commercial performance across Council's property portfolio.
- Develop strategic partnerships, sponsorships and commercial opportunities.




- Lead marketing campaigns that promote Council facilities, precincts and commercial activities.
- Develop productive relationships with government agencies, tourism organisations, businesses and community stakeholders.
- Leading creative projects that support economic development, place activation and customer experience.
- Manage organisational transformation and long-term financial sustainability.

You are a strategic and commercially focused leader with significant experience in commercial activation, destination marketing, events, partnerships or economic development and bring:

- Demonstrated leadership experience within a complex organisation.
- Extensive experience delivering commercial activation, marketing, visitor economy or place activation initiatives.
- Experience leading visitor economy, tourism, place activation or destination management initiatives.
- Strong commercial and strategic business acumen.
- Demonstrated experience establishing partnerships, sponsorships and stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and project management skills.
- Proven ability to develop innovative strategies that deliver measurable commercial and community outcomes.
- A commitment to customer service, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $118,950 gross per annum

+ 12% superannuation

+ annual performance-based salary increases / bonus (1-3.5%)

+ annual award increase
