Aboutthe RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic, welcoming andapproachable people to join our friendly and supportive CulturalServices team as a Relief Officers.

As a ReliefOfficer you are the first person our visitors meet at CockmanHouse, Wanneroo Regional Museum or Wanneroo Gallery. It is a rolewith genuine influence over the quality of a visitor’s day –welcoming people, orienting them to the site, and sharing thestories behind our collections, exhibitions and heritage places ina way that sparks curiosity and connection.

Beyond frontof house, you will provide versatile relief support across theCulture and Events team – assisting with the delivery of school,public and community arts programs, helping install and de-installexhibitions, and providing administrative support asrequired.

These arecasual positions that require successful candidates to be availablefor full day or part day shifts, and occasional evenings, Mondaythrough to Sunday.

Roleresponsibilities:

- Welcomeand orient visitors, delivering warm, inclusive andage-appropriate engagement for visitors, school and communitygroups including public tours;
- Respondto visitor enquiries and monitor visitor flow, ensuring thesafety and wellbeing of visitors and the protection ofcollections, artworks and heritage sites;
- front ofhouse operations, including opening and closing procedures andmaintaining public and exhibition spaces to a professionalstandard;
- supportthe preparation, delivery and pack-down of museum, gallery andcommunity arts programs, public programs, events andexhibitions;
- assistwith the installation and de-installation of exhibitions andartworks, including the movement, placement andcondition-checking of works under supervision;
- administrative supportincluding bookings, data entry,



correspondence, scheduling,research and the maintenance of registers and databases;and
- supportthe Museum Curator and Gallery Curator, working collaborativelywith Engagement Officers and the wider Cultural Servicesteam.

AboutYouYou are a natural communicator who enjoys meetingpeople of all ages and backgrounds, and you move comfortablybetween a quiet gallery, a busy school group and a heritage house.You Bring strong customer service experience, an interest in arts,culture and heritage, sensitivity to First Nations perspectives anddiverse community experiences, and the flexibility to work acrossmultiple sites as part of a large and diverse team.

- Excellent interpersonaland oral communication skills, with a genuine enthusiasm forengaging with people of all ages and backgrounds;
- Experience working withdiverse community audiences, including families, school groups,and culturally and linguistically diverse visitors;
- Abilityto work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team,including contributing to the physical set-up and pack-down ofprograms, events and exhibitions;
- Foundational computing,numeracy, literacy and administrative skills, includingkeyboard and data entry; and
- CurrentWorking with Children Check.

Completion ifYear 12 or equivalent is required. An interest in,



or knowledge of,cultural heritage, local history, museums or the arts sector isdesirable, as is a current driver’s licence.
