Position Overview

The Panel Beater is responsible for carrying out protected, efficient and high-quality vehicle body repairs in accordance with manufacturer repair methods, insurer requirements and quality standards.

The role requires an experienced tradesperson who can work independently, meet production targets and contribute to the smooth flow of vehicles through the workshop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Restores structural dimensions and integrity to collision damaged vehicles
- To remove and refit motor vehicle components, such as: body panels, interior trims, seats and carpets, electrical components, mechanical items, and others as required, as per the job sheet nominated by the Office Estimator.
- Restores damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance.
- Pre inspection and DTC scanning
- Disassembly of vehicle parts as per Job Sheet
- Match parts for suitability
- Label and store parts
- Work with Estimator on supplement parts / damages
- Repair vehicles in accordance with procedures supplied
- Reassemble vehicles and quality control
- Post Inspection & DTC scanning
- Clean work bays and shop maintenance




- Follow all Work Health & Safety rules

Skills Required

- Relevant trade qualification in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent.
- Previous experience working as a qualified Panel Beater.
- Experience in insurance collision repairs is preferred.
- Ability to complete structural and non-structural repairs.
- Experience using chassis alignment, measuring, welding and panel-repair equipment.
- Ability to read and follow manufacturer repair procedures.
- Current Australian driver licence.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Salary range offer is within $79,500 to $85K commensurate of the candidates' experience.
