An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Pricing Actuary to join a leading general insurance organisation on an initial 12-month contract. This role will play a key part in building and enhancing the end-to-end pricing capability for household insurance products, working on everything from data preparation and risk modelling through to rate book calibration and underwriting rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance the end-to-end pricing framework for personal lines insurance products.
- Prepare, validate and analyse data to support pricing and portfolio monitoring.
- Build and refine risk models, including contributing expertise where data is limited.
- Support rate book calibration and pricing optimisation.
- Develop and improve underwriting rules to enhance portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across pricing, underwriting and data teams.
- Assist with broader pricing transformation initiatives,
including data integration and new pricing technology implementation.
About You
- Qualified Actuary (FIAA, AIAA or equivalent).
- 3+ years' experience in pricing within the Australian general insurance market.
- Experience in household or personal lines pricing is highly regarded.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using statistical and actuarial modelling techniques.
- Proficient in SQL and Python.
- Experience with Nat Cat modelling, Snowflake or Willis Towers Watson Pricing Suite is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to a range of stakeholders.
