About theMental Health Division

The Mental Health Division is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients. In realising this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. The department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.

Ensure that people receivetimelyaccess to short-term inpatient care and treatment whererequiredto minimize the need for an extended inpatient stay by ensuring people can be adequately and appropriately supported in the community.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, through targeted discipline specific social work interventions, the role will contribute to minimise impact of admission on the consumer/patient’s functioning and social connections

A regular day will see you:

- Enhance social and emotional functioning through targeted discipline specific social work interventions including the mobilisation of services and supports.
- Advocate for your clients right to access safe andtimelycare, at the right place at the right time.
- Share your expert opinion and experiences to our team to help make a difference.

As the PAPU Social Worker, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
