About The Role

Make your mark on one of the most high‑profile and strategically critical Australian Defence Industry programs in Adelaide. Specific to the SEA‑5000 project, L3Harris IMSA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who will join us as the in‑country liaison between the customer’s engineering team and the L3Harris Maritime UK engineering team. The role will assist with design changes and, in the future, support the integration of the Integrated Platform management system onto the fleet of Hunter Class Frigates.

Our Systems Engineers support the creation and review of the contracted engineering outputs involved in delivering communications, navigations and platform management. Under the direction of the Project Engineering Lead, you will support the production and delivery of engineering documentation across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Liaise with customers and staff to develop requirements and assess constraints.
- Develop design documents, test procedures and test reports.
- Support the agreed safety program.
- Create documentation in accordance with additional QA or project requirements.
- Report task progress to the Project Engineering Lead, including status, predicted completion and issue identification.




- Spend two days per week on the customer site.

Qualifications And Experience

- Demonstrated relevant experience in the Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
- Current baseline Australian Defence Security clearance, and able and willing to obtain and hold to NV1.
- Defence industry experience preferred.
- Degree in Communications, Electrical, Electronics, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- Development of specifications, requirements, design and test procedures.
- Knowledge of the operation of communications equipment and systems.
