About the Role
We have an exciting Assistant Manager opportunity to join our Melbourne Audit team . BDO’s Audit practice is a major player within the local marketplace, auditing many of Australia’s leading public and private sector organisations across a diverse industry base.
Our thriving audit practice works with and provides services to some of the most exciting, established and emerging companies. You will have the opportunity to work in a high performing team on a diverse client base with exposure to challenging work in a cross section of industries.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Execute and manage audits of listed, large private and not-for profit clients ranging in size and industry.
- Work closely with engagement Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners to identify risk and tailor audit procedures.
- Liaise with clients to understand their business, identify controls and complete required audit procedures.
- Challenge client accounting papers and positions for alignment with the respective accounting framework and principles.
- Lead the preparation of key client documents including Audit Plans and Completion Reports.
- Coach and monitor engagement teams throughout the audit lifecycle including providing post engagement feedback.
- Form part of the BDO Melbourne audit leadership team, adding insights and perspectives to new initiatives and business priorities.
Competitive salary based on level of experience: starting from $105,000 inclusive of super.
About You
- CA/CPA qualified.
- Previous external audit experience in a skilled services firm (minimum 3 years).
- Experience in reviewing financial statements of private and public companies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience and passion in leading and developing teams.
