Occupational Therapist – Blue Care – Cairns

Permanent full‑time or part‑time (minimum 3 days per week). Location: Cairns.

Remuneration: $42.15 – $59.04 per hour (based on experience) plus super, salary packaging, kilometre reimbursement, penalties & allowances, and 5 weeks paid annual leave (pro‑rata).

About the role

As a member of Blue Care’s Allied Health Team, you will deliver person‑centred functional and environmental assessments and interventions that empower clients to maintain independence and improve quality of life. Your work will be carried out in clients’ homes, providing specialised equipment solutions, pressure care strategies, and support across a range of community aged‑care funding programmes.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver functional and environmental assessments and interventions to improve client independence.
- Provide specialised equipment solutions and pressure care strategies in clients’ homes.
- Manage a wide variety of client presentations across Home Care Packages, Commonwealth Home Support Program, Transitional Care Program, and Palliative Care.
- Conduct in‑home assessments and develop tailored treatment plans, including equipment prescription, home modifications, and client education.
- Collaborate with a statewide Occupational Therapy team and local multidisciplinary teams of nurses, care workers, and support staff.




- Participate in telehealth, evidence‑based group therapies, and acute care services.

Essential Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration with unlimited work rights.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Access to a roadworthy, insured vehicle (minimum Third‑Party Property).
- Strong communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Effective time‑management and sound clinical problem‑solving abilities.
- Confidence to meet all relevant probity and compliance requirements.

Desirable Experience

- Previous experience in an aged‑care or acute setting.
