Full Time Painter - Rydges Sydney Central

Location: 28 Albion St, Surry Hills NSW 2010, Australia

Responsibilities

This role ensures that all guest areas, back‑of‑house spaces, and exterior surfaces are well‑maintained, visually appealing, and in line with brand standards.

- Complete painting and maintenance tasks in line with the Work Request System, Preventative Maintenance Program, and supervisor direction.
- Perform touch‑ups and repainting work in guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces, anticipating and attending to guest needs with minimal disruption.
- Inspect hotel areas regularly and respond promptly to defects, repairs, and guest or inter‑departmental requests, following up with appropriate tradespersons or management where required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good condition, continue developing knowledge of maintenance systems, and ensure proper use and care of all operating equipment.
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance team, maintain positive working relationships, attend meetings, assist other departments when required, and perform any additional duties as directed by management.

Qualifications





- Previous experience as a Painter or Handyperson in general maintenance or a similar role.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a guest‑focused approach to service.
- Familiarity with basic repair techniques across carpentry and plumbing (advantageous).
- Ability to follow safety procedures and WH&S; guidelines.
- Comfortable using maintenance systems and logging work accurately.
- Physically fit and able to respond quickly to requests across the hotel.
- Flexible availability, including rotating shifts and weekends.
