Overview

At Main Roads we are committed to delivering a world-class road network and creating positive, lasting impacts for WA communities. We oversee the planning, design, construction, maintenance and operations of major roads and highways across the State. We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team in the Metropolitan Region.

Working closely with the Region’s senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping, implementing and driving a proactive safety culture across a diverse portfolio of road infrastructure projects and maintenance activities. This is a strategic yet hands-on leadership opportunity, suited to a safety professional who is passionate about risk management, continuous improvement and workforce wellbeing.

We are looking for a candidate with strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, standards and contemporary best practice, together with a demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives, influence positive behavioural change and deliver improved safety outcomes. Responsibilities

- Lead and strengthen safety performance across Metropolitan Region operations,



including road infrastructure projects and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with the Region’s senior leadership team to shape and drive a proactive safety culture.
- Advise on risk management, incident prevention and workforce wellbeing.
- Develop and monitor safety initiatives, measure outcomes and promote continuous improvement.
- Influence positive behavioural change and engage stakeholders at all levels to improve safety outcomes.

Qualifications

- Solid knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, standards and contemporary best practice.
- Demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives and deliver improved safety outcomes.
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across the organization.
- Collaborative and proactive safety leadership with a focus on risk management and wellbeing.
