About the Role

The Clarence Valley Network is seeking qualified General Practitioners to provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist General Practitioner services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes, delivering a healthy community through quality care. The candidate will participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Where You'll Be Working

Maclean District Hospital is a community level 3 rural facility within Clarence Health Service,



providing care to over 1,700 inpatients annually and handling over 14,500 emergency presentations annually. The Sub‑Acute and Rehabilitation Unit is a 10‑bed inpatient facility providing rehabilitation services to the community. Patients in the Rehabilitation Unit are cared for by a multidisciplinary team.

Eligibility Requirements

- Australian citizen or permanent resident, or the ability to independently, legally live and work in Australia.
- Current valid NSW Working with Children Check.
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist general practitioner or appropriate general registration.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in general practice at the role delineation of the service.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership.
- Effective clinical communication through information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on‑call roster and respond on site within reasonable time.
