About this role

The school-based SpeechPathologist provides prevention, assessment, and interventionservices for students who exhibit difficulties in the areas oflanguage, speech, voice and fluency and the provision of social,emotional health information.

Job tasks and responsibilities

- Determines service delivery plans withindefined organisational parameters and based on professional andindustry standards.
- Prepares qualified reports requiringin-depth factual analysis including assessments andrecommendations for consideration by others.
- Presents information to school personnelabout relevant impairments (articulation, literacy, language,voice, fluency, social skills) and their impact oncommunication and learning.
- Contribute to policy development around theareas of student services and related areas.
- Liaise with parents, external serviceproviders, and other agencies as necessary to ensure thewell-being of students and optimise the qualityservices.
- Provide individual, group and consultativespeech therapy programs within the schoolenvironment.
- Other duties as specified by the Head ofWellbeing.




- Uphold the Speech Pathology Australia Codeof Ethics and work within all the relevant legislation andlegal constraints.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

- Hold appropriate tertiary qualification(s)in Speech Pathology from recognised institution(s) and beeligible for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
- Minimum of 12 months relevantexperience.
- Must hold, or be willing to obtain acurrent Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Ability to work independently andparticipate effectively in a team environment and to developcollaborative working relationships.
- Experience and a sound knowledge of speechpathology techniques and the ability to develop, provide andevaluate a speech pathology service through individual andgroup programs.
- Well developed communication andinterpersonal skills, including the ability to consult andadvise other professionals providing service tostudents.
