About the job
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic & Governance Program, you will undertake a hybrid role combining essential mortgage broker support activities with active mortgage broking duties. This dual focus is structured to accelerate your development and transition into a fully qualified Mortgage Broker.
Key responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Advice
- Client Communication : Managing client enquiries via phone and email, ensuring a timely and professional response.
- Client Consultations : Leading or shadowing initial client discovery meetings to understand their goals, objectives, and lifestyle needs.
- Post‑Settlement Care : Providing administrative support to help engage and retain an existing client base, conducting annual loan reviews, and proactively identifying refinancing or debt‑consolidation opportunities.
- Credit Analysis & Loan Processing
- Credit Assessment : Assessing and analysing credit and borrowing capacity, reviewing documentation,
and aligning clients with suitable lending products.
- Structuring Loan Proposals : Preparing and presenting lending advice and explaining complex loan structures to clients.
- Loan Administration : Requesting, collecting, preparing, and uploading documents for loan submissions, alongside completing data entry and administrative tasks for electronic loan lodgement.
- Stakeholder Management & Compliance
- Lender Negotiation : Liaising directly with BDMs and credit assessors to negotiate pricing, request policy exceptions, and advocate for complex client applications.
- Compliance & Best Practice : Ensuring all loan recommendations and client files strictly adhere to the Best Interests Duty (BID), NCCP requirements, and internal compliance frameworks.
- Team & Service Excellence : Collaborating effectively within a team to achieve shared goals, while maintaining high service standards with exceptional attention to detail.
What you will bring
- Strong ability to support multiple Mortgage Brokers in achieving success.
- A proactive, client‑focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Outstanding relationship‑building skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients while providing a personalised experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly attitude.
- Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking.
