About The Role
Calvary John James Hospital (CJJH) runs a Graduate Nurse Transition Program (GNTP) across three areas: Medical, Surgical, and Rehabilitation wards. These programs support individuals in developing principles of clinical practice that promote the transference of knowledge, skills, and behaviour for life‑long learning. Through support and reflection, the program empowers individuals to make well‑informed, evidence‑based decisions throughout their careers.
The GNTP strongly emphasises Calvary’s values of Hospitality, Healing, Stewardship, and Respect. Calvary recognises the worth of the individual and acknowledges talents and skills by providing support, education, and mentoring to foster an atmosphere of ‘Being for Others’. Our program is designed to develop you into a competent and confident Nurse, facilitate professional adjustment to the workforce, and accentuate your adult self‑directed learning skills, fostering a commitment to a career in nursing. The Nursing program consists of two rotations over 12 months, 6 months in each area.
The choice of area is open to negotiation and subject to the candidate’s aptitude and future learning goals. There is no guarantee you will be placed in your first preference.
