About the role

We are seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Discover and Learn Academy in Tanilba Bay, NSW. This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst enabling you to make a meaningful impact on young children's learning and development. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for creating engaging, inclusive and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children in your care. This role is fundamental to our mission of providing exceptional early childhood education and supporting each child's holistic growth.

Key responsibilities

Planning and implementing play-based learning activities that are developmentally appropriate and tailored to individual children's needs and interests

Creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery

Supporting children's physical, emotional, social, cognitive and language development through intentional teaching and interactions

Building positive relationships with children and their families, and maintaining open communication about each child's progress and development

Observing and assessing children's learning and development, and documenting this information to inform future planning

Promoting children’s independence, resilience and social skills through guided practice and positive role modelling

Following all relevant early childhood education frameworks, policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements





Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistency of approach and to support a cohesive team environment

Contributing to the maintenance of a clean, organised and safe learning space

What we're looking for

A relevant early childhood education qualification, such as a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or 50% completed.

Current registration with the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) or eligibility to register

A current Working with Children Check

First aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings

Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and play-based learning approaches

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development

The ability to create inclusive, safe and nurturing learning environments

Flexibility, adaptability and a collaborative approach to working within a team

Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
