We are currently looking for a Business & Safety Officer.

This is a full time, permanent role, working 38 hours, Monday to Friday based from our office located in Bathurst.

As a Business & Safety Officer you will provide customer service, administrative and workplace health and safety support to the Housing Plus team. The role maintains a welcoming and professional environment at reception and over the phone, while supporting the tenancy, assets, capital works and management teams with administrative duties.

The Business & Safety Officer also supports the organisation's WHS framework by conducting site inspections, reporting and monitoring incidents, hazards and near misses, maintaining WHS records, and promoting secure work practices. The role represents staff in workplace WHS matters, including undertaking Health and Safety Representative (HSR) responsibilities where appointed, and works closely with Business & Safety Officers across other Housing Plus offices.



The BSO is also a dedicated Fire Warden.

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality outcomes in line with organisational objectives, demonstrating initiative, professionalism, and a strong commitment to excellence. In this role, you will manage day-to-day responsibilities efficiently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and performance. You will be expected to communicate effectively, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing demands while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines. A proactive approach, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team will be essential to succeed in this role.

Experience working with vulnerable client groups, an understanding of the needs of people on low incomes, and a desire to make a difference in our community will be highly regarded.

You will also need a current drivers licence, ability to obtain a Police Check and Working With Children Check.

The Business & Safety Officer is classified as a Level 3 under the SCHADS Award, which equates to $40.49 gross per hour. This will increase on an annual basis in line with the pay points in the Award. As Housing Plus is a Not for Profit organisation, we have access to excellent salary sacrifice options to increase your take home pay!
