We are looking for an experienced and reliable Grill Chef and Meat Preparation Worker to join our Arabic restaurant team.

The main responsibility of this role is to prepare and cook high-quality grilled Arabic food, including chicken / lamb shish, kofta, Chicken kebab and other charcoal-grilled meats. The successful applicant will also be responsible for cutting, trimming, marinating, and portioning the meat.

Main Duties

- Prepare and cook meats on the charcoal grill.
- Cut, trim, portion and prepare chicken, lamb and beef.
- Marinate meats according to the restaurant’s recipes.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures.
- Clean and sanitise the grill, preparation areas, knives and equipment.
- Check meat quality, freshness and stock levels.
- Store and rotate meat correctly using the FIFO method.




- Assist with kitchen preparation and other duties when required.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and management.

Requirements

- Previous experience as a grill chef, kebab chef, butcher or meat preparation worker is preferred.
- Experience working with charcoal grills and Arabic cuisine is highly regarded.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat preparation.
- Valuable understanding of food safety and hygiene.
- Ability to work quickly and calmly in a busy kitchen.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
- Physically able to stand for long periods and safely lift meat and kitchen supplies.
