Casual Position | 30+ Hours Per Week | Immediate Start
We are a long-established delicatessen located in Bankstown Central, specialising in premium European and Mediterranean smallgoods, cheeses, olives, continental groceries and specialty food products.
We are looking for a reliable, friendly and customer-focused team member to join our team. This is a hands-on role in a busy retail food environment, with the opportunity to take on additional responsibility and assist with day-to-day store operations.
About the Role
- Minimum 30 hours per week with consistent rostered hours
- Rotating weekday and weekend shifts
- Typical trading hours are from 7:00am, with shifts finishing around 5:00pm (4:00pm on Sundays)
- Additional hours available when required
Key Responsibilities
- Serving customers and processing sales
- Receiving deliveries and replenishing stock
- Maintaining product displays and store presentation
- Assisting with stock control and orderingOpening and closing the store when required
- Maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards
- Supporting the daily operation of the business
About You
You enjoy working with people, take pride in your work, and are happy to be part of a team.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in a deli, butcher, bakery, supermarket deli or similar food retail environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience handling stock and deliveries
Highly Regarded
- Previous supervisory, key-holder or assistant manager experience
- Food handling or food safety knowledge
- Familiarity with European and Mediterranean food products
- Additional language skills are welcome
