About the Role

This role is a casual role within the Mater Maternity Team.

The role will provide support to the Nursing and Midwifery staff in the delivery of basic care to mothers and newborns. You will report directly to the Registered Nurse-Midwife in the unit and integrate into the midwifery, nursing and multidisciplinary team.



The role will be largely located in the Well Baby Nursery overnight.

About You

Certificate 3 in Health Service Assistant and/or Evidence of completion of first year of bachelor's degree in nursing or Midwifery. Willingness to assist with care of the newborn, including daily cares, observation and supporting parents in their transition to parenthood. Ability and flexibility to work night duty.

Previous experience in an acute healthcare or maternity setting is desirable but not essential.
