New Leaf Disability Support is looking for multiple brilliant and caring disability support workers to join the team in the Newcastle, Maitland and Lake Macquarie areas. We are seeking carers with a flexible and clear client centered approach to support participants and promote their skills and abilities, empowering them to reach their goals, get around in their community and to live as autonomously as possible.

Current Leaf Disability Support places a heavy focus on reducing barriers for our participants and supporting our staff throughout their employment. We provide our care staff ongoing support and training as well as competitive payrates - higher remuneration is available to those with previous lived and/or worked experience and/or relevant qualifications. If in your application you could provide some information around availability and hours required that would be great.





Role Requirements:

Have or willing to obtain

- Availability to work different hours and with people of all ages and abilities
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- Current NDIS Worker Check
- Completed mandatory NDIS
- Current NSW Driver’s License
- Sound computer skills – Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Epilepsy training

Preferred Qualities and Experience:

- Experience in supporting people with physical and / or mental health disability
- Well-developed and effective communication, numerical and interpersonal skills
- Effective, positive interpersonal skills and possesses the ability to relate to others well
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve situations
- Ability to work individually or in a team with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment
