As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated Commercial Trainee to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their commercial career who is eager to develop practical experience across finance, accounting and business operations within a dynamic manufacturing workplace.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller and based at our Tomago manufacturing facility, you will work closely with an experienced Finance team while developing practical skills across a broad range of accounting and commercial functions.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assisting with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and cashbook processing.
- Preparing account reconciliations, including sub-ledgers, general ledger reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Assisting with the preparation and coding of credit card, fleet and other financial schedules.
- Supporting the preparation of statutory returns and ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines.
- Assisting with monthly management accounts, financial reporting and analysis.




- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance finance processes and business performance.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of efficient administrative and financial systems.
- Providing general administrative and commercial support to the Finance team as required.

About You

You are organised, motivated and eager to build a long-term career in finance and commerce. You enjoy learning, have strong attention to detail and are looking for an environment where you can develop professionally.

Ideally you will have:

- Completed Year 12 and be studying (or intending to study) a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, Business or a related discipline, or possess relevant administration or finance experience and be seeking to build a career in commercial finance.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

Location

This role is based at our Tomago manufacturing facility, located on the outskirts of Newcastle. As the site is not serviced by public transport, access to reliable private transport is essential. Onsite parking is provided.
