Balmain Dog Walkers has been caring for the dogs and families of Balmain, Rozelle and the Inner West for over 15 years. We've built an outstanding reputation for providing safe, reliable, engaged and caring dog walks, treating every dog as if they are part of our own family, while making life easier for both our canine and human clients.

We're looking for a reliable, caring and professional Dog Walker / Pet Care Professional to join our friendly team. We're seeking someone who can start immediately and is looking for a long-term position.

One of the best parts of this role is that you'll spend your days walking beautiful, well-socialised dogs through the harbourside parks of Balmain, Rozelle and the Inner West. Our walks are local, so you'll spend more time with the dogs and less time sitting in traffic or searching for parking.

The Role

- Safely collecting and returning dogs from their homes.

- Group dog walking (maximum four dogs per walk).

- Providing exceptional customer service and communication with clients.

- Monitoring each dog's health, wellbeing and behaviour, and reporting any concerns.

- Keeping our dogs safe, happy and engaged throughout the day.

- Representing Balmain Dog Walkers professionally within the local community.

Hours

- Tuesday to Thursday: approximately 9:00am-3:30pm (essential).





- Optional Monday and Friday shifts available (approximately 10:00am-2:00pm ).

- If you choose to take the Monday and/or Friday shifts, we ask that you commit to working them consistently.

Pay

- $31-$33 per hour + superannuation.

- Fuel allowance if using your own suitable vehicle.

- Your own vehicle is preferred but not essential. We're happy to discuss options with the right applicant.

About You

You are someone who:

- Absolutely loves dogs and enjoys spending your day with them.

- Understands that every dog in our care is a much-loved family member.

- Takes genuine pride in delivering a premium service and making life easier for both our canine and human clients.

- Is calm, patient and confident handling dogs of different breeds and personalities.

- Is able to calmly handle and navigate occasional stressful situations.

- Has excellent judgement and always puts safety first.

- Is physically fit and enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions.

- Is reliable, organised and comfortable working independently.

- Has excellent communication and customer service skills.

- Enjoys being fully present with the dogs and giving them your full attention.





- Is looking for a long-term position and values building trusted relationships with our dogs and their families.

- Holds a current Australian driver's licence with a good driving record.

- Has Australian working rights. Working Holiday Visa holders are welcome to apply if they can commit to the role long term.

- Has, or is willing to obtain, a NSW Police Check.

- Has a modern smartphone and is happy to use our app to log in and out of walks, communicate with the team, and take quality photos and short videos for our clients.

Previous experience in dog walking, animal care, veterinary nursing, dog training or a similar role is highly regarded, but not essential. We can teach the practical skills and best practices. What matters most is finding someone who genuinely cares, has a positive attitude, is open to learning, has excellent judgement, and wants to become a trusted part of our clients' lives.
