About our role:
Carinity Education Gladstone is seeking passionate and dedicatedYouth Workers – Student Wellbeing to join our supportive team.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students,teachers, families, and support services to promote studentwellbeing, engagement, and success. Through mentoring behaviouralsupport, and positive relationship-building, you’ll help youngpeople overcome barriers to learning and feel safe, connected, andempowered to reach their goals.
There is currently a permanent part-time position (60.8 hoursper fortnight) and casual opportunities available.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students,serving as a trusted mentor and role model
- Provide wellbeing and behavioural support within atrauma-informed and therapeutic framework
- Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, families,and external agencies to support individual student needs andremove barriers to learning
- Facilitate student wellbeing activities, lunchtimeprograms, excursions, and community engagementopportunities
- Encourage positive participation, resilience, and personalgrowth
- Maintain accurate case notes, records, and reportingrequirements
- Drive the school bus for student activities and transport(LR licence required or willingness to obtain)
About you:
You are a compassionate, resilient, and motivated professionalwho is passionate about supporting young people to achieve theirfull potential. You bring empathy, positivity, and astrengths-based approach to your work, building meaningfulconnections with students from diverse backgrounds, making themfeel safe, respected, and supported.
In addition,
- Certificate IV in Youth Work,
Teacher Aide studies,Education Support, or a related qualification
- An understanding of trauma-informed practice and supportingpain-based behaviours
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills toengage with students, staff, and families
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinaryteam setting
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current driver’s licence (LR licence or willingness toobtain)
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
