Brisbane | Defence, Civic, Government, Commercial and Community projects

DesignInc Brisbane is looking for a motivated Graduate of Architecture to join our Albion studio and contribute to a strong pipeline of work across Defence, civic, government, commercial, education, health, industrial and community projects.

This is a role for someone who wants to keep growing as an architect, not simply be placed into a narrow production role. You will have the opportunity to develop your design thinking, technical knowledge, documentation skills and understanding of how good architecture is shaped from early ideas through to built outcomes.

At DesignInc Brisbane, you will join a smaller local studio where your contribution is visible, valued and supported, while also being connected to a broader national design network.

You will work closely with experienced architects and project leaders, gaining exposure to design, documentation, consultant coordination, client communication and construction phase services. Just as importantly, you will be encouraged to keep developing your own interests within architecture.

We are not looking to shape every graduate into the same type of architect. We want to support people who are curious, engaged and willing to learn, and help them develop in the direction that best suits their strengths, interests and ambitions.

For some people, that may mean developing stronger design and conceptual thinking. For others, it may be technical detailing, BIM, project delivery, sustainability, client communication, construction knowledge or sector expertise. The aim is to help you build a strong foundation while giving you room to discover the kind of architect you want to become.





What you will be doing

You will have the opportunity to:

- Assist with design development, documentation and drawing production.
- Contribute to architectural design thinking across a range of project types.
- Work on complex government, civic, commercial and institutional projects.
- Develop technical knowledge through structured project work.
- Learn how design ideas are tested, coordinated, documented and delivered.
- Contribute to Revit documentation and BIM workflows.
- Assist with consultant coordination and project communication.
- Prepare records, meeting notes, schedules and project information.
- Support tender and construction documentation packages.
- Assist with RFIs, site inspections and construction phase tasks under the guidance of senior team members.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and close them out properly.
- Learn from experienced architects while building confidence, judgement and independence.

About you

You are likely to be a Graduate of Architecture who is looking for the next step in your career.

You may have recently completed your Masters of Architecture or have a few years of post-graduate experience. You are developing your technical knowledge, but you also care about design quality, explicit communication and the broader role architecture can play in shaping better places.

You will bring:

- A recognised qualification in architecture.
- An interest in architectural design and the built environment.
- A developing understanding of construction, documentation and building regulations.
- Strong Revit skills, or a willingness to keep developing them.
- Good written,



verbal and graphic communication skills.
- The ability to work in an organised and methodical way.
- A willingness to follow procedures, checklists and project standards.
- The ability to review your own work and seek feedback when needed.
- A positive, respectful and collaborative attitude.
- Curiosity, initiative and a desire to solve problems.
- A commitment to learning and improving over time.

Experience in Revit is preferred. Experience in BIM workflows, government projects, Defence, civic, education, commercial or institutional projects will be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Security requirements

Due to the nature of Defence-related work, applicants must be Australian citizens.

Candidates will need to be willing to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance if required. DesignInc will support the successful candidate through the clearance application process.
