We are looking for an energetic and professionally presented Veterinary Receptionist to provide excellent customer service to our clients and ensuring that front desk operations run smoothly.
Our receptionists are the primary point of contact for our clients and the first person that they see when they enter the waiting room with their pet and we want this first impression to reflect our service and reputation.
The role is full-time - 76 hour - 9 day fortnight. Hours are between 7:45am and 6:30pm with occasional later finishes and rotating Saturdays - 1 in 3 Saturdays are non-negotiable.
Nissen Street Veterinary Surgery has been owned and operated by Dr Candice Loft since April 2021 and has grown to a 5 vet practice with a reputation of going above and beyond the for our clients and their pets. Qualifications & experience
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a customer service role in a busy reception/administration environment
Compassion and sensitivity : Ability to be sensitive to an ill pet, as well as its concerned owner.
Customer service skills : Ability to provide friendly, efficient service to patients in-person, as well as on the phone.
Interpersonal skills : Ability to feel comfortable dealing with patients, staff, and others.
Technology skills : Ability to operate office technology such as computers and printers/copiers
Mental and physical stamina : Ability to work in a high pressure and busy workplace as well as staying calm when handling sensitive situations
Organizational skills : Ability to manage office operations such as taking messages, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient files.
Tasks & responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service when greeting customers, answer questions, process incoming patients/pets, and handling payments
Answer phone calls, which may involve answering questions, triaging and scheduling appointments
General admin tasks such as handle incoming and outgoing mail and email, update and file patient charts, data entry into on-line software
Ensure general flow of the day runs smoothly
Ensure prescriptions are completed by Vets and clients are contacted for pick up
Assist with pet supply purchases such as pet food, supplements, parasite control and grooming items
Maintain the cleanliness of the waiting room
End of day takings and reporting
General cleaning of waiting and consult rooms
