Thisexciting traineeship opportunity within Council's RegulatoryCompliance team offers hands-on experience in a dynamic andessential area of council operations to kick start your career. Asa Trainee Business within our Regulatory Compliance team, you willgain practical insight into how Council helps ensure communitysafety, amenity and environmental standards are maintained acrossthe community.
Under the guidanceof experienced and supportive professionals, you will assist with avariety of administrative tasks, regulatory and complianceactivities, learning how legislation, local laws and policies areapplied in real-world situations. Your day‑to‑day experience mayinclude supporting compliance inspections, responding to enquiries,record‑keeping, and engaging professionally with the community.This role combines structured training with on-the-job learning,providing you with a strong foundation to build a long‑term careerin regulatory services or local government.
Thistraineeship is a fantastic chance to build transferablebusiness skills, develop professional confidence, and contribute toessential Council services while working towards a nationallyrecognised qualification.
Thisposition will complete a two-year Certificate IV in Business online through Central Queensland University.

Qualificationsand Experience
Inan ideal applicant, we are looking for:
- Willingness tobe part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilstadhering to all Health and Safety policies andprocedures.
- Minimumcompleted of Year 10 with passes in English andMathematics.
- Minimum ofQueensland C class provisional drivers’ licence (or ability toobtain).
- Sound writtenand verbal communication skills.
- Sound computerskills.
- Ability to workeffectively and be positively involved within a teamenvironment.
- Complete alltraining and assessment requirements of a Certificate IV inBusiness as per the provided training plan. This includesattending and participating in structured formal learning atthe nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as well askeeping an accurate and up to date training recordbook.
