The Casual Shop Assistant is responsible for providing friendly and welcoming customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the shop. This role ensures customers have a positive experience and that transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. The position also contributes to maintaining a clean, organised and inviting retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Hospitality & Customer Service

- Greet customers warmly and respectfully
- Assist customers with product enquiries and purchases
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive and culturally sensitive workplace

Sales & Transactions

- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system (training provided)
- Process cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
- Issue receipts and follow shop procedures
- Assist with end-of-shift cash reconciliation (if required)

Shop Presentation

- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised shop space




- Restock shelves and assist with merchandising displays
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Duty Manager
- Follow basic Workplace Health and Safety practices
