Course Coordinator, MBA and Business Programs – Online & Blended Learning
CIHE Australia is a leading provider of higher education and professional development programs. We are committed to delivering innovative, high-quality educational experiences that prepare students for success in an increasingly complex global business environment. Our institution values academic excellence, student-centred learning, and the development of industry-relevant skills that drive meaningful careers and organisational impact.
Job Summary
Want to shape the future of postgraduate business education, coordinate a flagship MBA, and lead innovation across Business courses in online, blended, and face‑to‑face modes? This role is for you. The Course Coordinator, MBA and Business Programs is a specialised academic role, appointable at Senior Lecturer (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D), responsible for coordinating and facilitating high‑quality MBA and Business courses that meet rigorous higher‑education and graduate business standards. The position combines deep discipline expertise with contemporary learning‑design capabilities, focusing on student engagement, academic excellence, and the professional development of working professionals and international students.
You will play a central role in building a modern, industry‑connected School of Business, with particular focus on MBA and Business course design, academic quality, and staff capability in digital and blended learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination of CIHE’s MBA and Business programs, ensuring coherent course structures, academic quality, and a consistently high student experience across online, blended, and face‑to‑face delivery modes.
- Design, develop, and oversee online, blended, and face‑to‑face MBA units and Business units (e.g. Accounting, Management, Marketing, Finance, HRM), ensuring alignment with AQF and relevant professional accreditation requirements.
- Champion innovative teaching and learning, including effective use of LMS platforms, digital technologies, active learning strategies, and authentic, workplace‑relevant assessment.
- Provide academic leadership in online and blended learning design, modelling good practice in curriculum and assessment design and supporting colleagues to adopt evidence‑based approaches.
- Mentor, coach, and develop academic staff teaching into the MBA and Business programs, lifting the quality of teaching, curriculum design, supervision,
and scholarly practice in online, blended, and face‑to‑face environments.
- Contribute to and grow the School’s research profile through publications, research projects, and by helping to foster a strong research culture among staff and students.
- Supervise postgraduate research students in business‑related areas (including MBA research projects) and support colleagues in building their supervision capacity, including co‑supervision and mentoring.
- Build solid relationships with industry partners and professional bodies to ensure MBA and Business courses remain current, practice‑oriented, and career‑relevant.
- Model a student‑centred culture that values respect, engagement, flexibility, and academic integrity, particularly for diverse cohorts of working and international students.
The role is appointable at Senior Lecturer (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D), depending on the successful candidate’s experience and record of achievement in teaching, research, and academic leadership. A minimum of 1–2 years of academic leadership or management experience is required to be effective in the course coordination and staff‑development aspects of the role.
Who You Are
- A people‑oriented academic leader who enjoys collaborating, coaching, and helping colleagues and students succeed.
- Outcome‑focused, with the drive to take ideas through to implementation and demonstrable impact on student learning, program quality, and graduate outcomes.
- Passionate about online, blended, and face‑to‑face learning, confident in leveraging technology, analytics, and innovative pedagogy to improve student outcomes and engagement in MBA and Business courses.
- Able to clearly articulate a strong, evidence‑based teaching and learning philosophy, informed by experimentation, scholarship, and reflection on practice.
- Someone who genuinely values and respects students, and understands the realities of today’s diverse, often working, postgraduate and undergraduate business cohorts.
- A builder of culture – committed to enhancing the quality and reputation of the programs and the School of Business.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- A completed PhD in Business, Accounting, Management, or a closely related discipline.
- A substantial record of research and publication, including at least 10 peer‑reviewed outputs in recognised business or accounting journals.
- Successfully supervised at least three research students enrolled in AQF Level 9 or 10 qualifications (e.g. master's by research or doctoral degrees).
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and delivering online and/or blended higher‑education courses in Business or related fields, including:
- Curriculum and assessment design for MBA and Business units.
- Confident use of LMS platforms (e.g. Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard or similar).
- Integration of digital learning tools, resources, and learning analytics into teaching.
- Evidence of developing and mentoring academic staff in teaching, curriculum, supervision, or scholarly practice.
- Active engagement with your professional business or accounting community and discipline.
- Current membership of CPA Australia, CA ANZ, AHRI, or an equivalent professional business body (where relevant to your area of expertise).
- Right to work in Australia.
- A minimum of 3–5 years of higher‑education teaching experience, ideally in MBA and/or Business programs.
Why Join CIHE?
- The opportunity to shape strategy and practice across the MBA and Business programs, not just deliver individual units.
- A fast‑track environment for promising academic leaders who want to grow into broader School and institutional roles.
- A growth‑focused institution where innovation in online and blended learning is a strategic priority, not an afterthought.
- A close‑knit, collegial academic community with strong support for leadership, scholarship, and student success.
- A role with genuine scope to leave a lasting legacy in curriculum, culture, and quality within the MBA, Business programs, and the broader School of Business.
